Kai Trump is about to make her biggest swing yet. The 18-year-old granddaughter of U.S. President Donald Trump will make her LPGA debut this November at The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida.

The announcement came earlier this week when Kai, the oldest daughter of Donald Trump Jr., shared the news with her millions of followers across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. The LPGA confirmed her sponsor exemption, describing the decision as a way to connect the tour with new audiences and younger fans.

Kai is already committed to play college golf for the University of Miami starting in 2026, and her path from junior tournaments to one of the LPGA’s most prestigious events has captured national attention.

LPGA executive Ricki Lasky said the invitation was about more than potential.

A Viral Debut in a Traditional Sport

Kai’s golf résumé is still developing. Ranked 461st in the Rolex AJGA junior rankings, her best performances so far include a 24th-place finish at the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley and a tie for 19th at the Nicklaus Junior Championship. Yet what she lacks in experience, she makes up for in reach. With over six million followers, she arrives at The ANNIKA with a media presence that could bring a surge of new viewers to women’s golf.

The timing is ideal. The tournament, named after Swedish legend Annika Sörenstam, is one of the final LPGA stops of the season and features defending champion Nelly Korda. Kai’s entry adds a new layer of intrigue to an event that already attracts some of the best players in the world.

Fans will also see a familiar crossover star at the pro-am. WNBA standout Caitlin Clark is scheduled to return for her second appearance, adding to the buzz around Pelican Golf Club before the official competition begins.

From Junior Golf to Trending Feeds

For the LPGA, Kai’s debut represents more than just a young player getting a shot. It reflects a broader strategy to make golf more visible, more social, and more relatable to younger audiences.

Whether Kai can convert her digital fame into competitive success remains to be seen. What is clear is that her appearance at The ANNIKA will draw attention from both golf fans and social media followers who may be watching their first professional tournament.
