Happy Gilmore 2 features a dashing, mustachioed Travis Kelce in its official trailer: When is it released?

After a rollercoaster 2024 NFL season that ended with a crushing Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Travis Kelce is determined to come back stronger.

He recently spent several weeks in Boca Raton, Florida, working intensely on his physical conditioning. According to reports, this period of focused training was all about getting his body “right” ahead of what he hopes will be a redemption season.

Kelce was seen back with the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this week, checking into the team’s facility on Tuesday for the start of their voluntary Organized Team Activities (OTAs).

Acting career heats up with Netflix and FX roles

In addition to preparing for another season with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, Kelce has been making big moves in Hollywood. His entertainment career took a serious leap forward in 2024, beginning with his debut role in the FX horror series Grotesquerie.

The series, which generated buzz for its eerie tone and chilling aesthetic, gave Kelce a chance to show audiences a different side of himself-one that didn’t involve catching passes on Sundays.

But the tight end’s acting ambitions didn’t stop there. Kelce has also landed a role in the long-awaited Happy Gilmore 2, the sequel to the beloved Adam Sandler golf comedy.

The upcoming Netflix film, which will officially release on July 25, promises a nostalgic return for fans of the 1996 original.

The streaming giant recently dropped the full trailer for the movie, and eagle-eyed fans caught Kelce’s brief appearance at the 1:46 mark. Though the cameo lasted only a second, it confirms Kelce’s involvement in the film.

While his part in Happy Gilmore 2 appears to be minor, it’s a meaningful step for Kelce, who has previously hosted Saturday Night Live and has been increasingly involved in entertainment projects. It also opens the door to a potential Hollywood future once he eventually hangs up his cleats.

Still, it’s clear that Kelce remains laser-focused on football for now. With three Super Bowl rings and four All-Pro nods to his name, he has little left to prove on the field.
