Hamzah Sheeraz Net Worth: How did his boxing career get his family out of debt?

It is widely known that hundreds of boxers have managed to rise out of poverty thanks to the strength of their fists. Many begin training in a gym as a form of exercise, and little by little, both they and their coaches begin to realize they have the skill level required to pursue a professional boxing career. That’s how many of their journeys in the sport begin.

For Muhammad Hamzah Sheeraz, born May 25, 1999, boxing has become a passion-one that has allowed him to earn a substantial income to support himself and his family. He understands that the power of his punches is what keeps him financially afloat, which is why he remains in constant preparation, aiming to become one of the sport’s top figures.

Early years

Hamzah Sheeraz was born in Slough, Berkshire, England, into a British-Asian family. On his father’s side, he has Indian heritage. His father was a cricket player, while one of his uncles and his grandfather were boxers with notable regional careers. On his mother’s side, he comes from a Muslim background

He discovered boxing at the age of 12. After participating in several bouts, his talent began to shine, and he reached the finals of the regional championships three times. However, he became disillusioned with the sport after being overlooked for the Commonwealth Games. For a year, he turned to work as an electrician-until his coach at the time, Lenny Butcher, convinced him to return to boxing.

The professional path

Hamzah Sheeraz turned professional in 2017, debuting on his 18th birthday in a fight against Frank Warrenz. Since then, he has climbed the ranks, gaining visibility and increasing his earnings with each match.

His professional record includes 22 fights, of which he has won 21 and drawn 1, with zero losses. Out of those 21 victories, 17 have come by knockout and 4 by decision.

These numbers clearly demonstrate the power he holds in his fists and his ability to apply it effectively in the ring. Each win brings him closer to higher-profile events, where the purses are more lucrative and the spotlight brighter-opening the door for a potential title shot that could catapult him to stardom and help him maintain a top position in the sport for a while.

Financial net worth

As is well known, boxers can earn large sums of money from their fights. Ten or twelve rounds offer the chance to take home significant payouts, though that’s not always the case in the early stages of a boxing career.

So far, with eight years as a professional under his belt, Sheeraz is estimated to have amassed a net worth of $1.8 million-a remarkable achievement considering that, before turning pro, he was just beginning to learn the electrician’s trade.

He is also expected to earn $100,000 for his next fight. And with his bouts now airing on pay-per-view, that exposure guarantees better compensation and more opportunities to showcase his skill and power in every event.
