Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen may be known for his on-field grit and leadership, but off the field, his wife, Hailee Steinfeld, is carving out a creative world of her own, one that has unexpectedly become a regular part of their life together.

Steinfeld, the American actress and singer who writes the widely followed newsletter Beau Society, recently shared personal reflections on the simple yet heartfelt hobbies she’s been embracing, from scrapbooking to knitting, in her latest issue.

Her candid thoughts offer a glimpse into a quieter, more reflective side of life as she and Allen prepare for parenthood.

In the newsletter titled “Marching into spring,” Steinfeld explained how she rediscovered scrapbooking with a close friend, turning it into a weekly ritual that brings joy, connection and a touch of nostalgia.

“I’ve recently gotten back into scrapbooking at the same time as one of my best friends. We’re doing it together, which has been so fun. Josh makes fun of how often we’re voicenoting about our scrapbooks,” she wrote.

The actress went on to describe the affectionate name she and her friend gave their gatherings, “scrap and yap”, and how meaningful the hobby has become as a way to preserve memories.

“We call our casual little sessions ‘scrap and yap,’ and I always look forward to them! Plus, I’ve found that a scrapbook is not only the perfect place for all my polaroids, but it houses all the random things I want to hold onto but don’t have a place for. Now my sonograms aren’t just getting rolled up and stored away, they have a special page!”

A season of slowing down and savoring simple pleasures

Steinfeld‘s reflections come at a time of significant life transition. She and Allen are expecting their first child, a milestone she has openly shared with her audience. In her newsletter and social posts, she has documented how this period has encouraged her to slow down, reflect and savor everyday moments.

Beyond scrapbooking, Steinfeld also mentioned another hobby that’s helped her unwind: knitting. While she didn’t share specific projects, she noted that knitting has become a way for her to lower screen time and engage in something tactile, a creative rhythm that mirrors her scrapbook sessions.

Knitting, much like scrapbooking, is widely recognized for its calming effects and community culture, with many enthusiasts finding the repetitive motion and focus therapeutic.

Steinfeld also continues to write about her love of cooking and recipe collecting. In a previous newsletter entry, she shared her delight over a cookbook she was gifted, describing her affection for the tangible experience of reading a physical book rather than scrolling on a device.
