Hailee Steinfeld suffers when forced to say nice things about the Chiefs and forgets about Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce

Hailee Steinfeld faced a particularly difficult “truth or dare” style question in a spicy challenge on Tuesday’s episode of “Hot Ones Versus,” where she appeared alongside her Sinners co-star, Michael B. Jordan. The famous actress was asked to say three nice things about the Kansas City Chiefs – the same team that ended her fiance’s season in heartbreak earlier this year.

“Anger the Bills Mafia by saying three nice things about their rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs,” Jordan teased.

“I can find nice things to say about anybody, even if I don’t like them – even if we don’t like them,” Steinfeld replied with a sly smile, referring to the heated rivalry that has defined recent AFC showdowns.

A rivalry wrapped in red, yellow… and pain

Though she was a good sport about it, Steinfeld visibly struggled to shower the Chiefs with praise. Still, she managed to power through – much to the amusement of Jordan and viewers alike.

“Yellow and red really complement them all pretty well,” Steinfeld said after a moment of hesitation, referencing the team’s bold color scheme.

“They are very loud… it’s great, you want that from a fanbase. They go hard for their team.”

Jordan burst out laughing as Steinfeld reached for her glass of water, laughing through the challenge – but undoubtedly endearing herself even more to Bills Mafia by barely concealing her disdain for their AFC rivals.

The Kansas City Chiefs, of course, ended the Buffalo Bills‘ 2024 season with a dramatic 32-29 win in the AFC Championship game on January 26 at Arrowhead Stadium – a result that added fuel to the fiery rivalry between the two teams.

This isn’t the first time Steinfeld has publicly roasted her fiance’s rivals. During an interview for WhoWhatWear’s February cover, she took a not-so-subtle jab at the rest of the AFC East while taking part in a football-themed quiz.

“You got the Buffalo Bills and the Bills’ three sons,” she said while counting on her fingers – a not-so-veiled swipe at the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots.
