The Giants were, for many years, synonymous with inefficiency and frustration on offense in the NFL. With Daniel Jones at the helm, it became predictable, limited to checkdowns and short plays that rarely ended in touchdowns.
They were so laughable that in 2024 the New York team finished 31st in points per game and 30th in total yards. But in 2025 it looks like there will be a radical change.
The changing of the guard: Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston
There are new elements in the team. Two horses have arrived that suggest new perspectives: Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. This marks the end of the Jones era
Both veterans share a profile, a profile that fits perfectly with what Brian Daboll wants to do: vertical aggressiveness
When we talk about Wilson, we’re talking about a player with 10 Pro Bowls and a Super Bowl. Still capable of deep passes, as the 2024 statistics indicate.
Last season, Wilson threw 13 percent of his attempts more than 20 yards, fourth in the league. Winston, on the other hand, is not afraid to take risks. He’s a train.
This will give the receivers more freedom, who last year were encased in a minimalist system that did not work
Bill Barnwell (ESPN) summed it up well: the Giants are the team “most likely in the NFL to throw deep more often” this year.
Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton: reborn receivers
Malik Nabers is happy with what happened. The change of scheme will make him an even better receiver. A good 2024 is coming
A total of 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie speaks for itself. Now add to that a quarterback who opens up routes
This means that the volume will be much higher and that in fantasy football guarantees points
Nabers has the potential to get into the elite WR1 conversation, alongside Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase.
Darius Slayton will no longer be the eternal wasted talent. Nabers will be the one to drag marks, the one to generate pressure. This will open the door for the veteran to have the opportunity to surpass 1,000 yards for the first time if he can reduce his drops.
In fantasy leagues, he goes from being irrelevant to a flex/WR3 option with explosive potential.
Wan’Dale Robinson: volume and yards after the catch
Wan’Dale Robinson is another who is happy. If in 2024 he caught 93 passes but only added 699 yards, in a scheme as stingy as the previous one, imagine what he will be able to do now with Wilson
With Wilson, there will be more room to take advantage of his YAC (yards after catch) ability and he could be a safe flex in PPR formats.
Renewed backfield: Tracy Jr. and Skattebo
Without Saquon Barkley, the ground attack seemed to be a problem. However, the Giants are betting on a dynamic duo:
- Tyrone Tracy Jr: Last year he surpassed 1,000 yards from the line of scrimmage and showed explosiveness in key weeks. He will be the starting RB, with RB3/flex value, but with upside to get into RB2 if he maintains volume.
- Cam Skattebo: a powerful rookie with a bulldozer style. He could be key in the red zone and short yardage. In fantasy, he starts as a deep handcuff, but with potential for surprise if he wins more touches.
The Brian Daboll factor
It should not be forgotten that Daboll already transformed Josh Allen in Buffalo with a scheme that mixes play-action, verticality and ground balance. In New York, he now has the personnel to replicate part of that formula
If the offensive line, so battered by injuries, can stay upright, this offense could go from being useless in fantasy to having 3-4 relevant pieces.
Fantasy Giants 2025 ranking
- Malik Nabers (WR) – WR1 with elite potential.
- Darius Slayton (WR) – WR3/flex with boom weeks.
- Tyrone Tracy Jr. (RB) – RB3 with upside to RB2.
- Wan’Dale Robinson (WR) – Safe flex in PPR.
- Cam Skattebo (rookie RB) – Sleeper for deep leagues.
- Theo Johnson (rookie TE) – TE2 with potential to break out.
The Giants won’t be an overnight top-5 offense, but in 2025 fantasy they represent something they haven’t been in years: a mine of opportunity. The old system died with Daniel Jones.
With Russell Wilson, there will be, and already is, a breath of fresh air, explosiveness and relevance for more than one player.
In other words, for the first time in a long time, the Giants deserve to be on your fantasy radar.
