Tom Brady‘s ex-wife, Gisele Bundchen, posted an emotional message on social media as she reflects upon becoming a mother and reveals the much-anticipated first photos of her baby with her new boyfriend.
The Brazilian supermodel announced a shock pregnancy in October 2024, two years after he split from the former New England Patriots quarterback, and welcomed River into the world in February.
However, in a bid to keep the baby’s identity protected and secret, the 44-year-old and Joaquim Valente chose not to publish any immediate photos of the newborn girls’ face online.
Yet that policy changed on May 11 when she posted an emotional message about parenthood on Mother’s Day, explaining why she hasn’t been spotted in public as often recently.
“I’ve been quiet over here but very busy living life..,” Bundchen wrote to Instagram. “Sometimes the most beautiful moments aren’t shared – they’re simply lived.
“Lately, I’ve been embracing the slower rhythms, the real connections, the beauty in the lessons that come with being present.”
The mother-of-three showed off the infant River in a “I [heart] mom” set of baby clothes as she cradled the youngster on her shoulder, Gisele smiling at the camera in an au natural look in the sunlight.
And a second photo showed her new family all embracing the baby in a group hug, with Valente to the right and Vivian to the left and with Benjamin at the back of the quintuplet.
However, River‘s identity still remains private. Gisele used a small love heart to block out her face before posting the images to her social media, where she boasts 23 million followers on Instagram.
Benjamin and Vivian are her two children from Brady, who himself shares another son named Jack through his previous relationship with Bridget Moynahan. They dated from 2004-2006 until he left her for Bundchen.
Bundchen remembers her mom on Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day in 2025 is not an easy moment for Bundchen and her family as they remember and mourn the loss of Vania Nonnenmacher; who died in January 2024 after battling cancer.
A retired banker, she passed at the age of 75 and had six children with her husband. Vania was known for her close relationship to Gisele and her family, often appearing in photos with the model.
“Today, on Mother’s Day, I specially miss my mom,” Bundchen wrote to Instagram. “But my heart is full.
“Being a mother it’s been my greatest gift, a journey that humbles me, teaches me, and fills me with gratitude every single day.
“To all the mothers out there, your love shapes the world in ways words can’t describe. I see you, I honor you. Happy mother’s day! Sending so much love your way!”
