The New York Giants sent fans into a frenzy during Sunday Night Football when they got fans at MetLife Stadium excited with what they initially called the “Taylor Cam”.
Adding to the intrigue was the fact that the Taylor Cam initially showed the back of several women’s heads, with the women sharing similar hair to that of Taylor Swift.
Given the Giants are taking on the Kansas City Chiefs and Travis Kelce, the goal was to get fans excited at the possibility of Swift being in attendance for the high profile encounter on Sunday Night Football.
In the end the Taylor Cam didn’t show Swift. To the delight of Giants fans, the camera ended up zooming in another famous Taylor – Lawrence Taylor, the famous Hall of Fame linebacker who played 13 seasons withe the Giants, as he puffed on a cigar while sitting in the stands.
No Swift as frustration mounts for Kelce
With no Taylor Swift in attendance to support Kelce as the Chiefs look to climb out of their 0-2 start, the tension was clearly high on the Kansas City bench following a red zone fumble by running back Isiah Pacheco.
Travis was spotted approaching head coach Andy Reid, shouting in his face and bumping into him, causing Reid to momentarily lose his footing. The scene quickly spread across social media, sparking concerns about friction within the team.
It isn’t the first time things have gotten heated between the two. Just last week, Kelce was spotted throwing a tantrum on the sidelines as the Chiefs eventually fell to the Philadelphia Eagles.
“Listen, he was trying to get guys fired up and going,” Reid said of Kelce after the Week 2 contest.
“That’s him. He’s that way every week if you keep an eye on him so he’s all-in all the time. That’s the way he was today.”
Given the Chiefs’ struggles so far this season, the tension on the sidelines in back-to-back games speaks to how Kansas City isn’t used to struggling, especially with Patrick Mahomes at quarterback.
Still, emotional moments like those shoving exchange are often doubleedged. On the one hand, they reveal cracks. On the other, they can serve as a spark.
If the Chiefs can get something going – a sustained series, a converted third down, or a solid run – it might settle things. Whether this tension turns into a turning point or a lingering issue will depend in large part on how Kelce and Reid respond from here. For Kansas City, the stakes are high: avoiding an 03 start in a season with title expectations.
