Giannis Antetokounmpo spotted at Stephen Curry’s All-Star party: Could a blockbuster trade be on the horizon?

The Golden State Warriors harbored ambitions of ending the 2025-26 NBA season with a serious championship challenge, but those hopes look to have crumbled since Stephen Curry was sidelined with injury in January. It has exposed a truth for But injuries and roster uncertainty have complicated those ambitions, fueling speculation that the franchise could pursue another superstar such as Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The latest development came from ESPN analyst Marc J. Spears, who revealed an interesting detail about the relationship between Curry and the Bucks star.

Speaking on the Willard and Dibs show, Marc J. Spears shared that Antetokounmpo was the only non-Warriors player in attendance at Curry‘s All-Star party earlier this year.

“I went to Steph‘s All-Star party, and there was only one non-warrior that came to the party, Giannis (Antetokounmpo),” Spears said while speaking on the Willard and Dibs show.

“I thought it was quite interesting that Giannis would come…that doesn’t mean that he’s coming here, but that means that he and Steph have a relationship.

“So I just think that when you Steph Curry, when you have this brand, when you have this city, like there’s some selling points there where they’ll always be in the mix for somebody big.”

The revelation has only increased ongoing speculation surrounding the future of Antetokounmpo.

Despite constant trade rumors over the past two seasons, the two-time MVP has remained loyal to Milwaukee. However, the team’s struggles this year have raised questions about how long that loyalty might last.

Bucks faltering despite Giannis heroics

Through 35 games this season, Giannis is averaging 27.5 points and 9.7 rebounds, continuing to perform at an elite level.

Yet the Bucks are experiencing a disappointing campaign. Following a 105-112 loss to the Miami Heat on Thursday, the team fell to 27-38 and currently sits 11th in the Eastern Conference.

The recent slump, combined with speculation about the future of head coach Doc Rivers, has fueled theories that Giannis could reconsider his long-term future with the franchise when the offseason arrives.

Meanwhile, the Warriors are navigating their own challenges. A season-ending ACL injury to star forward Jimmy Butler severely impacted their championship hopes.

Elsewhere, Curry has been sidelined since late January with a right patellofemoral issue. Follow-up scans later revealed additional bone bruising, leaving the team without a clear timetable for his return.

Head coach Steve Kerr and the Warriors are unlikely to rush Curry back, especially if the team falls short of the NBA play-in tournament.

Warriors missing star quality

The franchise remains focused on preserving its superstar’s health as he approaches the final stage of his career.

Even with the February addition of Kristaps Porzingis, the roster still lacks the depth needed to contend at the highest level.

That reality has prompted speculation that the organization may aggressively pursue another elite player to pair with Curry.

Any potential move for Giannis would require significant roster restructuring. Players such as Draymond Green, Moses Moody, Brandin Podziemski, or even the injured Butler could theoretically become part of trade discussions.

For now, the speculation remains just that. But with Curry‘s championship window narrowing, Golden State may soon explore every possible path to land another superstar like Giannis.
