There are countless stories about the personality of NBA legend Kobe Bryant, who tragically lost his life in a helicopter accident in 2020. Recently, Giannis Antetokounmpo added to that list by sharing a profound life lesson he learned from the former Los Angeles Lakers star.

Giannis Antetokounmpo shares a hilarious lesson from Kobe Bryant

The Greek superstar has had the privilege of playing and training alongside some of the greatest basketball players on the planet, but Kobe’s teaching has left a lasting mark on his already prosperous career.

Giannis’ Anecdote with Kobe Bryant

“So, usually, most of the time, your weakness is your strength,” the Milwaukee Bucks star said on the Thanalysis Show, hosted by his older brother Thanasis Antetokounmpo.

The younger Antetokounmpo was stunned by Bryant’s lesson and responded, “Okay, what’s your weakness?” Bryant hilariously replied, “I’m an a**hole, I’m not nice.”

Antetokounmpo followed up, “What’s your strength?” Bryant said, “I’m an ahole – sorry for my language – but I don’t give a f*. I’m going to shoot 40 shots.”

The two-time regular-season MVP took a moment to reflect and process the insight from his experience with Kobe, eventually arriving at a powerful conclusion of his own.

“Okay, what’s my weakness?” Giannis said. “It’s that I’m really stubborn. If I say I’m going to do this, I’m going to do it no matter what – [even] if it’s right or wrong, I’m going to do it.”

Giannis has spent his entire career with the team that drafted him 15th overall in 2013.

The Greek star knows what it’s like to be an NBA champion, NBA Cup winner, Finals MVP, two-time regular-season MVP, nine-time All-Star, and the 2020 Defensive Player of the Year.

He’s the Bucks‘ all-time leading scorer, averaging 28.9 points and 10.1 rebounds for a Milwaukee team that has struggled this season. So we can safely say this lesson – and others from Kobe – have served him very well.
