Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant could end up together on two possible teams, according to Stephen A. Smith

All NBA teams have their sights set on facing a new season with a revamped roster that will allow them to climb to the top.

Of course, among the names that resonate, Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant are the most talked about.

And it is about both NBA stars and their possible destinations that Stephen A. Smith spoke on ESPN’s “First Take”. But what caught the attention of fans is that one team could have them both.

The lack of wins with the Bucks – who have failed to advance past the first round of the Playoffs in their last three appearances – has reportedly led Giannis to want to try new directions in his professional career. Averaging over 30 points, 12 rebounds and 6.5 assists, he is a perfect candidate for any team.

For his part, Durant was in the middle of a dispute with the Suns, who tried to fix his transfer but could not reach an agreement.

Now, according to Smith, the two could play together for the New York Knicks and dazzle fans at Madison Square Garden.

What did Smith say?

About the possible destinations for Giannis and Kevin, Stephen stated that, out of five possible destinations, Knicks is the No. 1 option for both of them and the Houston Rockets as the second possible destination.

For Antetokounmpo, his list continued with Dallas Mavericks, Miami Heat and Boston Celtics. “The New York Knicks. The market. The Mecca. Madison Square Garden. Center Stage,” Smith euphorically declared about Giannis. “Jalen Brunson in the house. Keep Anunoby if you can. You can let Bridges go. Hell, if you had to lose Karl-Anthony Towns for him (Antetokounmpo). Yes. Yes.”

Meanwhile, KD his list had Minnesota Timberwolves, Detroit Pistons and Miami Heat as third, fourth and fifth possible destinations respectively. “Now him (Durant), that might be because he’s 30 going 36 years of age. You understand what I’m saying?” Smith added. “I don’t know, but I’m very certain about that. Either way you slice it, KD, damn it, your ass should have been in New York to begin with! You should have never gone to Brooklyn.”

What is certain, however, is that the Knicks are in search of something more urgent: a head coach. After five years with the team, Tom Thibodeau was fired and the team is adrift, although with several options in mind.

Will they bring in Antetokounmpo and Durant to revitalize New York?
