Getafe mocks Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium after beating them

Getafe CF stunned Real Madrid with a 1-0 victory at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday, then celebrated in a way that quickly drew attention across Spanish soccer.

After securing the upset, Getafe‘s players were seen dancing and chanting in the visiting locker room, reveling in a win that few expected. Videos circulating on social media showed the squad celebrating loudly, embracing the moment after defeating one of Europe’s most decorated clubs on its home field.

On the pitch, Real Madrid appeared in control early. In the 13th minute, Vinícius Júnior capitalized on a midfield mistake, pressing Boselli and stealing the ball before racing into a one-on-one with goalkeeper David Soria. Soria reacted quickly and denied the opening goal. Eleven minutes later, Arda Güler produced a highlight move inside the box, spinning past Luis Milla with a roulette before firing on goal. Once again, Soria delivered, pushing the shot away for a corner.

Madrid could not decipher Getafe

Despite controlling possession and creating the better chances in the first half, Madrid could not break through Getafe‘s compact defensive structure. The breakthrough instead came from the visitors. In the 39th minute, Agustín Álvarez Satriano connected cleanly on a volley from the edge of the area, marking Getafe’s first shot on target and giving José Bordalás’ side a 1-0 lead.

Real Madrid attempted to respond before halftime. Vinícius Jr. delivered a cross into the box, and Aurélien Tchouaméni tried a backward header, but Soria collected the ball confidently to preserve the advantage heading into the break.

The second half featured sustained pressure from Madrid, but Getafe remained disciplined and organized. Every clearance and defensive stop seemed to add to the visitors’ belief. When the final whistle sounded, the Getafe bench emptied onto the field to celebrate a result that could prove significant in the standings.

The players were dancing after the game

The postgame scenes in the locker room underscored how much the win meant. Players danced, sang and appeared to mock their high-profile opponents after silencing the Bernabéu crowd.

For a club accustomed to fighting outside the spotlight, defeating Real Madrid on the road represented both a competitive triumph and a statement performance.

For Madrid, the loss was a missed opportunity after a strong opening stretch. For Getafe, it was a night to remember – one that ended not only with three points, but with a celebratory display that reflected just how rare and meaningful such victories can be.
