It seems that the Dallas Cowboys are taking giant steps towards a season that will finally lead them to play in the Super Bowl, or at least that’s what it seems with the addition of George Pickens, the explosive wide receiver they’ve always wanted, who is in his fourth season in the NFL and will look to make history alongside CeeDee Lamb.
The 24-year-old receiver will join the Cowboys from the Pittsburgh Steelers afterthe ‘substantial trade’ that Jerry Jones hinted at a few days ago became a reality, and for which the Cowboys have gained the player and a 2027 sixth-round draft pick, in exchange for a 2026 third-round draft pick and a 2027 fifth-round draft pick.
Pickens wants to surprise in Dallas as he did in Pittsburgh
Pickens was selected by the Steelers in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and in his two subsequent years he was the team’s leading receiver. In his rookie season he was second in receiving yards behind Diontae Johnson, and last season he caught 59 passes for 900 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games, although he unfortunately missed the last three regular season games due to a hamstring injury.
However, the receiver did play in the playoffs, where he had five receptions for 87 yards and a touchdown against the Ravens, a game that surely defined his future, which today looks very promising with the Cowboys, who will also pay him very well. A salary that will surely increase if there are good results, just as expected.
Pickens’ income, wealth and new salary
According to SalarySport, Pickens, a University of Georgia graduate, had earnings with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024 of $1,318,834, while his net worth is estimated at $6,752,178. Not bad for a player so young and with so much future in the NFL, so it is believed that this is only the beginning.
Regarding his salary with the Dallas Cowboys, NFL information assures that in this, his second NFL team, Pickens “will earn $3.65 million in what will be a big showcase season as he enters the final year of his rookie contract.”
