Rafa Nadal‘s future remains a question mark. The 38-year-old Spaniard recently announced that he would not be playing in the Laver Cup, which runs from 20-22 September. Nadal is now mulling over his future.
“No drama. They are decisions that are being taken and this was a possibility. I have not been competing for some time. There will be another who will do better. Zero problems,” said Rafa Nadal recently about his future.
“I was very prepared for it. Life was sending me physical signals. I was looking forward to opening a new chapter,” Garbine Muguruza told Tennis.com during her visit to New York.
The former tennis player believes that Rafa Nadal “is also ready. His body, his mind, everything. It’s also time to enjoy his son. I see him smiling all the time with his son. Why are you still on the court? Go home, take the boat, go to Mallorca? I think he gave everything he had”.
Looking to the future
The two of them met not long ago, in April, but the conversation on the subject did not go any further.
“It’s difficult to get to know him well because he is very shy. This is my last year’, but he didn’t share anything else. I don’t ask him about personal things,” said someone who is still active in tennis-related matters.
“I thought I would be more at home, but I’m travelling a lot, but in a good way. I’m not stressed, I’m not carrying my 55 rackets, I’m not nervous. I’m happy travelling like this,” concluded Garbine.
