Francisco Lindor keeps making costly mistakes for Mets and considers his recent blunder ‘unacceptable’

Self-criticism in a Major League player is basic, especially for those players from whom much more is always expected of their abilities because they are in the eye of the hurricane because of their status as superstars, as is the case of Puerto Rican Francisco Lindor, guide and reference in the locker room of the New York Mets.

Lindor’s new error against the Twins

Lindor has not been fine in this start to the season and already has four big errors in 17 games with the Queens, which have cost the team too much. The most recent was a blunder between second and third on a Ty France grounder that cost them two unearned runs in Tuesday’s painful loss to theMinnesota Twins 6-3 at Target Field

The Mets won the first game of the series in Minnesota by a score of 5-1, but succumbed in the second, partly thanks to Lindor’s new error, but mainly because they did not know how to take advantage in the batter’s box and because of errors in the selection of the bullpen.

A necessary self-criticism of a giant in shortstops

The problem with Lindor is that we are talking about a world-class player in his position, so the definition of ‘unacceptable‘ for his error fits him very well, in an exercise of self-criticism after which he only has to go up to the native of Caguas, Puerto Rico, and perform what he has accustomed everyone in the Mets and in the Major Leagues.

“My vision was a little cloudy because of the weather, but it’s unacceptable. What’s happening right now is unacceptable. It’s not at the level that the Mets have, and it’s definitely not at the level that I have with myself. I’ve already had two games that cost the team, so I have to get better,” Lindor said
