Former world champion claims Canelo Alvarez is a “beast” that Terence Crawford has seen before

There may not be as much hype for it as anticipated, but the upcoming Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford bout really does have the potential to be the “fight of the century“. Both boxers have carved out incredible careers to this point. While their legacies may not be on the line, the winner will come out with the titles, a bunch of money, and eternal bragging rights.

As things stand, Crawford is the underdog. It makes sense considering he’s moving up two weight classes to face an in-form Alvarez. Crawford has looked strong in the lead-up to the fight, which has some analysts feeling hopeful that he can come out victorious. Shawn Porter is one of those people, and he came out to shed even more hope for Bud’s fans.

Shawn Porter loves what he’s seeing out of Terence Crawford’s training camp

Porter attended Crawford’s training camp recently and spoke to Fight Hype about what he’s been seeing. Aside from the hunger and strength Crawford is showing, Porter believes Bud won’t be fazed by the “beast” that Alvarez is in the ring; simply because he’s been sparring against similar types.

Big guys, guys that were right around the six foot mark, guys that were right around that 200 lb mark. Nothing new for Terence Crawford. I want to remind people that getting into the ring with Canelo Alvarez, Terence is not going to see anything that he hasn’t seen before. No, he hasn’t seen this beast on fight night, but he has seen a version of this beast for a very, very long time.

Porter also mentions that Crawford has done a great job of getting up to the specified weight. While “most fighters don’t know how to gain weight and fit into a weight class properly“, Crawford has done everything right in that aspect leading up to the bout.
