Antonio Brown has sparked another controversy after directing a provocative and deeply personal remark at Erika Kirk exactly one year after the assassination of her husband, Charlie Kirk.
The former NFL receiver posted the message on September 10, the anniversary of Kirk’s death, asking a blunt question about Erika’s private life despite having no evidence to support the speculation.
“Do u guys think Erika Kirk has had s*x in the past year,” Brown put out there.
The timing ensured the post quickly drew attention, with Brown choosing the anniversary of Kirk’s killing to turn his widow’s personal life into social media content.

Charlie Kirk was fatally shot while speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. Since then, Erika has taken on a more prominent role at Turning Point USA, the conservative organization her husband founded.
Brown’s post had nothing to do with Kirk’s hateful legacy, the circumstances of his death or Erika’s work since then. It was simply a speculative question about whether she had been sexually active during the year following her husband’s killing.
Users immediately pushed back, with some pointing out that Erika is a widow and others criticizing Brown for reducing a personal situation to another attempt at online provocation.
Brown’s controversial reputation continues
The former Pittsburgh Steelers star has increasingly become known for his chaotic online behavior since the end of his NFL career.
Brown left professional football under extraordinary circumstances in 2021 after walking off the field during a Tampa Bay Buccaneers game. Since then, his public image has been shaped by legal problems, financial issues and a steady stream of provocative social media posts.
He filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2024 and was later charged with second degree attempted murder following a 2025 shooting incident outside a Miami boxing event. Brown pleaded not guilty, and that case remained active in 2026.
His latest post therefore fits an established pattern of deliberately inflammatory online behavior.
Whatever judgment people make about Charlie Kirk’s divisive political career and rhetoric, Brown’s remark wasn’t a substantive criticism of him or his record.
It was a personal attack aimed at his widow, designed primarily to provoke a reaction. On that front, it succeeded.
