Former Denver Broncos cornerback returns to the NFL to play for a historic franchise

The Cowboys are making strategic moves to improve their secondary ahead of the approaching start of the National Football League (NFL). Among their plans is the signing of a cornerback who played a couple of years with the Denver Broncos, according to NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero.

This will undoubtedly be one of the most striking news stories of the week for Jerry Jones‘ team, clearly after the issue of Micah Parsons, a name that has dominated the media for the star’s team, as he is one of the team’s most important defensive players and could be traded at any moment.

Cowboys sign Michael Ojemudia

“Veteran cornerback Michael Ojemudia, who most recently played for the DC Defenders of the United Football League (UFL), will sign with the #Cowboys, per a source. Back in the NFL,” NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported via his official X account.

Ojemudia played college football at Iowa before being drafted by Denver (2020). He has since spent time in the NFL with the Bears, Rams, and Cardinals, and will now join a competition in the Cowboys’ defensive backfield that will likely intensify as the season approaches.

While Ojemudia might not be a key contributor for the Cowboys this year and will likely have to fight just to make the roster, the signing indicates that Dallas brass knows they have work to do in that department.

Jerry Jones shows no urgency to negotiate with Micah Parsons

Cowboys All-Pro defensive end Micah Parsons and the team remain deadlocked in talks over his contract extension, which has led Parsons to remain on hold throughout training camp in Oxnard.

On Wednesday, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones was asked what’s preventing him and the organization from entering contract talks with Parsons. “Nothing, really,” Jones responded. “We may or may not talk,” Jones said. “The rest of it is just about what we do every day.”
