According to court documents about Tiger Woods‘ arrest after his latest car accident, prosecutors have requested all records related to the golfer’s prescription drugs, including data such as dosages and warnings about their possible effects on driving.
Woods was arrested and initially charged with driving under the influence, but the golfer told officers he had not consumed alcohol that day. However, when asked if he was taking any prescription medication, Tiger replied: “I take some”.
The police told Tiger that they suspected his “normal faculties” were impaired by an “unknown substance”. They later reported finding two white pills in his pocket, identified as hydrocodone, an opioid commonly prescribed to treat pain.
The golfer admitted on Twitter afterwards that “I will take some time to receive treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary to prioritise my well-being and work towards a lasting recovery”. In fact, he has already travelled to Europe after receiving permission from Judge Darren Steele of Martin County, Florida.
