Fever’s Sophie Cunningham had to publicly admit her mistake after Caitlin Clark corrected her

Caitlin Clark showed off her golfing skills and participated in the Annika Pro-Am tournament for the second year in a row, but she wasn’t alone.

Her Indiana Fever teammates Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull were there as guest caddies for the event. The 29-year-old point guard shared her experience, but she made a mistake, and CC and us fans didn’t let it slide.

Sophie admits her mistake

The event’s official Instagram account @theannikalpga shared the news of the participation of Cunningham, Hull, American soccer legend Briana Scurry, and NASCAR’s Carson Hocevar.

Sophie shared this post with her 1.3 million fans in her stories and wrote “FOUR!!!!!!,” the term golfers shout when warning people of an approaching ball. However, the correct term is “Fore.”

Faced with the mistake, Caitlin did not hesitate to correct her teammate with humor. Taking a screenshot of Sophie’s post, CC shared it on her stories saying, “yeah clearly we have a lot to learn about golf” along with three laughing emojis. She added, “It’s fore bud @sophie_cham.”

Of course, Cunningham, seeing Clark’s story and realizing her mistake, took a selfie and replied, “FORE?? Yea idk.“

The truth is that Caitlin, Sophie, and Lexie were all key players during the Fever’s season, which reached the Playoff semifinals without six of its players.

Clark, for example, suffered injuries to her quadriceps, ankle, and groin, leading her to play only 13 games. Cunningham tore the LCM in her right knee after 30 games with Indiana, requiring surgery in August.

Fortunately, Hull was the only one of the “Tres Leches” trio who did not get injured, averaging 7.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. Damiris Dantas, Sydney Colson, Aari McDonald, and Chloe Bibby complete the Fever’s injury list.

Now, during the WNBA break, Clark and Cunningham continue their respective recoveries, and although only CC has a contract to continue in 2026, the three Indiana stars hope to continue shining together on the court.
