Roger Federer got up early on Wednesday to unveil the new Wilson racquet that bears his name: the RF Collection.
The 20-time major champion returned to the playing surface where he last played a tennis match alongside Rafael Nadal. It was at the O2 Arena in London on the occasion of the Laver Cup 2022.

This time Federer played at the Uber Arena in Berlin, two days before the start of the seventh edition of the tournament he devised eight years ago on a drive through Shanghai accompanied by his agent Tony Godsick.
The Swiss has spent the past 18 months working closely with Jason Collins, CEO of Wilson Racket Sports, and Michael Schaeffer, the brand’s global product manager, to build the perfect weapon.
“It has a perfect balance of power and control. I would have loved to win Wimbledon with it. I wanted a lighter frame that was easier to use and play with,” explained Roger.
The racquet responds to black tones, representing the elegance that has accompanied the tennis player throughout his career.
The RF 01 line includes three models, all designed and tested by Federer himself: the RF 01 PRO (racquet built by Roger and the most playable RF frame); the RF 01 (built for the advanced adult player); and the RF 01 Future (for the next generation player).
“A lot of players have been interested in trying them out in preseason and we’ll see it on the tour next year,” Schaeffler reflects.
Wilson accompanied the Swiss legend throughout his career and is also one of the sponsors of the Laver Cup.
