Fears Tiger Woods may lose control and return to pill popping after mother Kultida’s death

Golf legend Tiger Woods is facing one of the most difficult times of his life following the recent passing of his beloved mother, Kultida Woods, and those close to him are deeply concerned about his ability to cope with the loss.

According to RadarOnline.com sources, the five-time Masters champion is emotionally shattered following Kultida’s death on February 4 at age 80. Woods, 48, has openly expressed the deep bond he shared with his mother, describing her as his biggest fan and strongest supporter.

“My Mom was a force of nature all her own, her spirit was simply undeniable,” the golf legend wrote in an emotional tribute. “Without her, none of my personal achievements would have been possible.”

Now, insiders fear that her absence could send him spiraling, as she was often the stabilizing force in his life during his most turbulent moments.

A lifetime of support

Kultida played a pivotal role in guiding Woods through some of his most challenging years, including his infamous 2010 cheating scandal that led to his highly publicized $100 million divorce from Elin Nordegren. The scandal resulted in a stint in rehab for sex addiction and permanently altered his public image.

The troubles didn’t stop there. In 2017, Woods was arrested for DUI, with a toxicology report revealing multiple prescription painkillers, sleeping aids, and marijuana in his system.

He later entered a treatment program for substance abuse, followed by another stint in rehab in 2020 for his dependency on prescription medication.

Then, in 2021, Woods suffered a horrific car crash that nearly cost him his leg, forcing him to undergo extensive rehabilitation just to walk again-let alone compete in professional golf. Through all these hardships, Kultida remained by his side, offering him unwavering support.

Now, with his greatest source of strength gone, friends fear that Woods could be at risk of falling back into old habits.

“Kultida was the glue that held him together and kept him sane in the darkest of times,” a source shared. “Her loss has left him devastated, and there’s a very real concern he’ll become vulnerable to old bad habits.”

“His sobriety is quite perilous. It’s one day at a time for him, and the worry is this could really trigger him to a dark place. Thankfully, he has people looking after him. His friends are hoping and praying that’s enough to keep him on an even keel.”
