Fantasy football experts confirm: Don’t pick Quinn Ewers just yet; this Dolphins stat proves it

The forecasts for the Miami Dolphins are not encouraging in real life, nor in the digital world. For Football Fantasy NFL 2025, the experts in the field do not have a good perspective on Mike McDaniel’s team. It is true that in previous years the quarterback, defensive and offensive lines gave good dividends prior to the games. However, the poor performance of each of them during 2024 has infected the mood of the fans for the present edition.

Quinn Ewers was one of the best recruits in the country, but never lived up to expectations at Texas. Mike McDaniel is betting that the new promises will flourish under his tutelage and that he could become a quarterback for Miami in the future. However, experts have indicated that he is not worth recruiting in fantasy leagues. In this regard, Tua Tagovailoa is still Miami’s starting QB, which is somewhat worrisome for their fans, as they still depend on the evolution of his concussions suffered last year

Tua Tagovailoa is not the reliable quarterback everyone thought

Last season was supposed to be the year that Mike McDaniel and the Miami Dolphins finally got over the hump and got their first playoff win since 2000. After all, the young prodigy’s first two seasons with Tua Tagovailoa and company resulted in 9-8 and 11-6 campaigns, fueled by the league’s sixth-best scoring offense.

Unfortunately, another early season concussion for Tua largely doomed the offense from the start, as winning six of their last nine games was still not enough to break the Bills’ five-year AFC East championship streak. Even if he had overcome those brain injuries, it remains to be seen whether he will be able to withstand further blows from his opponents and prevent another concussion. The first thing fans are asking is that when he slides at the end of his runs, he does so feet first, not head first.

Mike McDaniel, the ‘mathematician’ who fails in the war of football

While McDaniel will need to develop a counterattack for this offense to get back to full strength, I would say that the relative drop-off in production last year was more due to Tua Tagovailoa’s secondary distribution. Reminder: It’s only been a year since Tagovailoa led the NFL in passing yards; anything approaching a return to form from his two speedy receivers could help recapture that weekly high-end potential.

I’m not necessarily rushing to the podium to select Tua specifically despite his affordable ADP of QB22, but the presence of him, Jordan Love, CJ Stroud and Trevor Lawrence in that range makes me feel very comfortable implementing a “first or last” strategy at the position in drafts of most shapes and sizes.
