Fans throwing sex toys at WNBA games sparks outrage among manufacturers. “Keep it in the bedroom”

What began as a bizarre stunt has quickly drawn universal criticism from WNBA players, league officials, and now the manufacturers whose sexy toy products have become unintended game-day distractions.

At recent WNBA games, fans have tossed green pleasure wands onto the court, leading to widespread outrage and renewed debate about appropriate behaviors in family-friendly sports settings.

The incident that brought the issue into the spotlight occurred during a matchup between the Indiana Fever and the Los Angeles Sparks.

Center Sophie Cunningham was struck by one of the toys in mid-play, an ironic moment captured by cameras just days after Cunningham herself had implored fans on social media to stop the behavior.

The raise of awareness prompted swift action from both the league and those behind the products.

Adult toy companies urge fans to keep the fun off the court

Twisted Dantasies’ owner, Avi Goldstein, did not mince words when asked about the controversy.

“We make adult toys for the bedroom, not for throwing around at basketball games,” Goldstein told TMZ Sports, expressing disappointment and concern.

“What happened at those games was completely inappropriate, putting players and fans at risk, incredibly disrespectful to these amazing athletes, and frankly, not something kids should be seeing during a family sports event.”

Goldstein emphasized that while his company supports open expressions of sexuality in appropriate contexts, a public sporting event is not among them.

“There’s definitely a time and place for that,” he added.

Naughty Fox, another manufacturer, echoed those sentiments.

“We’re all for fun and freedom,” the company said in a statement. “But throwing sex toys at WNBA players definitely crosses a line. Please keep the games sporty and the toys in the bedroom.”

Both companies, represented by their owners, were clear: these products are designed for private enjoyment, not public spectacles that endanger people and compromise the integrity of athletic competition.

League action and legal consequences follow

In response to escalating incidents, the WNBA has taken steps to tighten game-day venue protocols. A no-bag policy is now in effect in many arenas, aimed at preventing fans from bringing in items that can be misused as projectiles.

Law enforcement has also become involved. Authorities confirmed that an 18-year-old individual has been charged with disorderly conduct, public indecency/indecent exposure, and criminal trespassing in connection with one of the sex toy-throwing incidents.

The accused claimed it was just a prank, a defense that did little to temper public condemnation.

As the league presses forward and manufacturers issue firm statements, fans who care deeply about sportsmanship and safety will expect this behavior to remain a one-off stunt, and a costly one, at that.
