The ongoing speculation surrounding Shedeur Sanders and his future with the Cleveland Browns continues to dominate the conversation. Yet, he appears unfazed by the noise-at least for now. Much has been said about the Browns’ crowded quarterback room this offseason, and many believe Sanders could be the odd man out, especially considering he’s received the fewest reps during training camp. What is certain is that Shedeur remains focused, working with humility to learn from veteran teammates and prove he possesses the talent, poise, and ability to earn the starting role.
However, if all else fails for Deion Sanders’ son, he might just have an ace up his sleeve.
My goal is to be the best teammate and to be as polished as I can be in every aspect,”… “I view things as I got time. I got time to be able to grow and mature and be able to understand the ins and outs of the defenses and be able to get the good insight from the vets in the room. So, I look at it as a plus. I got time to actually be able to really have a great understanding and whenever it’s time for me to play, then it’s time for me to play. But I’m not looking too far in the future about all that.
Sanders said.
The impressive skills Shedeur displayed with the Colorado Buffaloes could very well open other doors should the Browns decide to release him-most of those opportunities potentially lying north of Ohio.
A move that stirred controversy
On Friday, July 4, it was revealed that Shedeur Sanders had been placed on the CFL’s negotiation list. This move undoubtedly raised eyebrows and sparked plenty of chatter.
This is THE name on the list if you’re going for cartoonishly loud and fun name recognition”… “You already know the story and the bloodlines as Shedeur Sanders showed off million dollar watches to opposing student sections while enjoying his visit to Colorado with legendary dad Deion.
TSN’s Marshall Ferguson wrote, later adding:
Can you imagine the buzz around Sanders to Toronto? I can’t yet, but after falling all the way to the fifth round of the NFL Draft this year, never say never.
While these types of hypothetical situations are fairly common in the CFL, this one lit up social media with reactions from fans:
“Shedeur Sanders to the CFL would be hilarious marketing,” one person replied.
“There’s no way a Sanders will play in the CFL lol. But I understand the procedure for that league,” another fan wrote.
“It would be a kinda fun full circle moment if he sort of mimics his college career in the pros. Start off facing lesser competition to then transition to facing better opponents,” one user commented on X.
Even if Shedeur were to be cut by the Browns, it’s highly likely another NFL team would pursue him once they’ve recognized what he brings to the table-even in his short time in the league.
