In Indiana, confidence is soaring. After clinching their spot in the WNBA semifinals, the Indiana Fever are riding a wave of excitement as they prepare to face their next opponent, the Las Vegas Aces. Spirits are high as they train with intensity, aiming to continue their remarkable postseason run.

On Saturday, the team posted a video that quickly went viral. The footage showed the Fever practicing at the Aces’ facilities, engaging in their traditional half-court shooting challenge. However, this session stood out for one very unexpected reason.

Stephanie White joins the competition

In a moment both surprising and entertaining, Fever head coach Stephanie White decided to participate in the challenge herself. Not only did she take part, but she also left everyone stunned with what happened next.

White casually grabbed a ball, lined up her shot, and launched it without overthinking the outcome. To the amazement of everyone present, the ball sailed through the air and dropped cleanly into the basket from half court. The entire team erupted in cheers, celebrating the moment with laughter and excitement.

Her shot brought an extra layer of energy to practice, showcasing the close-knit, positive atmosphere inside the Fever locker room. It also reinforced the idea that the team is fully united and focused as they chase a spot in the WNBA Finals.

White used a low, underhanded motion to release the ball, which added to the surprise and delight when it went in. Several players had already made their shots earlier, using a more traditional, professional form. Seeing their coach sink one with an unconventional style made the moment even more memorable.

Fans react to White’s shot

It didn’t take long for Fever fans to react online, flooding social media with their amazement and support. Many were thrilled to see their coach show off her still-impressive skills, even if just for fun.

What in the world!?! That’s awesome. Coach White rocks. I’m so happy people are seeing the talent of the coaching staff.

How did Steph even shoot that

“Steph one handed under hand… COME ON NOW.”

HOLD UP COACH…

Steph had no business hitting that shot .

Stephanie White’s history with the Fever

Many fans today may only know White as the Fever’s head coach, but she had a stellar playing career before transitioning to coaching. From 1995 to 1999, she starred at Purdue University, earning Big Ten Player of the Year honors as a senior. That same year, both Purdue’s men’s and women’s teams captured championships, an unprecedented accomplishment.

White went on to play six seasons in the WNBA, including four with the Indiana Fever. Her deep ties to the franchise and the city give her a unique connection to the fans and her players.

Now, she is determined to guide the Fever to their first WNBA title since 2012. Despite injuries challenging the roster, White’s leadership and the team’s resilience have fueled the belief that anything is possible as they prepare for their showdown with the Aces.
