Everyone can’t get enough of slapping Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs: They’re already like a losing team

The Kansas City Chiefs will have to swim against the tide in a season where many critics believe they’ll fail, following their decisive loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. With plenty of time before the season kicks off, expectations are grim for the team led by Patrick Mahomes and coached by one of the best head coaches in the game, Andy Reid.

The AFC has been dominated by the Chiefs, but as mentioned, many think they’ll be far from the dominant force they once were.

The worst is expected for the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes

Within the organization, they know they need to improve for the new season and that the NFL‘s competition is among the toughest. Yet, outsiders don’t fully grasp the effort being put into continuing to build a dynasty.

What’s striking is that some treat them as if they didn’t even make the playoffs, which is far from reality.

“Look, they are going to be a really good football team. They are a lock in my opinion to make the playoffs. I am not going to be crazy and say that Kansas City becomes a five-win team,” said Craig Carton on Breakfast Ball. “They are too good for that. And their quarterback is too good, and Andy Reid is just too good. There is just too much talent there for them not to be above .500 and be a playoff team.”

“I could tell you for a fact that they are not winning 15 games this year. They won a lot of one-score games. A lot of games on the last possession or two … And that is the other point, the AFC West has finally gotten better. Harbaugh with the Chargers is better. Sean Payton with the Broncos is better. The Raiders with Pete Carroll, but their division is better.”

It would be a mistake-or continues to be a mistake-to assume that a team that has been so dominant for years will suddenly stop, especially with a mastermind like Andy Reid at the helm. All that’s left is to wait and see how Patrick Mahomes and company prove they remain a great team, despite losses and the departure of key stars.
