EuroBasket 2025: top 10 NBA players to watch, featuring Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo

The biggest basketball tournament in Europe is set to begin, as nations gear up for the chase to crown a new champion. This year’s EuroBasket will feature a host of NBA stars, whose talent and impact promise to elevate the competition to another level. Fans worldwide will have their eyes on Europe as some of the league’s brightest names take center stage.

In recent years, European basketball has experienced remarkable growth, producing elite players who have earned global recognition. Their performances have validated Europe as a powerhouse in the sport, with many of its brightest stars making the leap to the world’s top stage, the NBA.

Top 3 NBA stars headlining EuroBasket 2025

The most prestigious basketball tournament in Europe will take place from August 27 to September 4. With several NBA stars set to compete, ESPN has released its ranking of the top 10 NBA players to watch at EuroBasket 2025.

Nikola Jokic is widely regarded as one of the best basketball players in the world, and his talent makes him the standout player of EuroBasket 2025. At 30, he is expected to lead Serbia in pursuit of another title, as the country has not won the tournament since 2001. With Jokic at the helm, Serbia enters this edition as one of the clear favorites.

In second place is Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, tasked with leading Greece to its first EuroBasket title since 2005. Last summer at the Olympics, he averaged 25.8 points per game, showcasing his elite level and leadership with the national team.

Luka Doncic rounds out the top three. The 26-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star is set to lead Slovenia’s national team, with fans eagerly watching his offseason transformation and new physical condition ahead of the tournament.

The remaining NBA stars in the Top 10 to watch

The German star of the Orlando Magic, Franz Wagner, ranks fourth, having won bronze with Germany at EuroBasket 2022 and gold at the 2023 FIBA World Cup, highlighting his elite international performance. Rounding out the top five is Alperen Sengun of the Houston Rockets, who has become one of the most high-profile NBA players on the global stage.

Other stars to watch include Atlanta Hawks forward Kristaps Porzigis of Latvia in sixth place, and Lauri Markkanen from Finland, a former Utah Jazz player. In eighth place is Portland Trail Blazers’ Deni Avdija, followed by Spain’s Santi Aldama of the Memphis Grizzlies, while the top 10 concludes with Neemias Queta, Form Boston Celtic representing Portugal.
