In a rare public comment, Ed Kelce, father of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, has spoken out about his son’s relationship with pop superstar Taylor Swift.

Attending the premiere of ESPN’s docuseries The Kingdom at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City, Ed shared his perspective on the high-profile romance that has captivated both sports and entertainment fans.

“He’s loving it, she’s great for him, they’re two individuals who really owe each other,” Ed Kelce remarked, offering a straightforward endorsement of the couple’s bond.

This marks one of the few times Ed has publicly addressed his son’s personal life, especially concerning his relationship with Swift. The couple began dating in 2023, and their relationship quickly became public, drawing attention from fans and media alike.

Also supporting Kelce was his mother, Donna Kelce, who spoke about Swift‘s recent appearance on The New Heights podcast with Travis and Jason Kelce.

Donna called the episode “really, really eventful,” adding, “It was authentic. It was just something I think everybody was thrilled to see, and it was a very loving podcast.”

The couple’s support extends beyond the red carpet. After roughly 25 years of marriage, Ed and Donna went their separate ways following their sons’ college graduations, but they have remained closely involved in Travis‘ career. From childhood dreams of playing professional football to his 12-season NFL journey, the Kelces have consistently encouraged their son’s ambitions.

Also attending the premiere were fellow Chiefs stars. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes posed with his wife, Brittany Mahomes, while head coach Andy Reid attended alongside his wife, Tammy Reid.

The event celebrated ESPN’s six-part docuseries, The Kingdom, which chronicles the Chiefs‘ pursuit of a historic “three-peat” at the 2024 Super Bowl and examines the franchise’s 60-year impact on the NFL.

Directed by Kristen Lappas, Kansas City Chiefs CEO and Chairman Clark Hunt described the project as “a tribute to everyone who has helped shape” the franchise over the decades.

“We were proud to open our doors to share the full scope of what Chiefs Kingdom means, on the field and beyond,” Hunt added.

Swift’s integration into Chiefs kingdom

Since the relationship became public, Taylor Swift has embraced her role as a Chiefs fan. Attending games and engaging with the team, she has shown genuine support for her boyfriend’s career.

Her presence at Chiefs events has been well-received by fans, further solidifying her place within the Chiefs community.

In the docuseries The Kingdom, which chronicles the Chiefs‘ 2024 NFL season, Swift appears as a fan, cheering alongside the community.

While she doesn’t appear on screen, her involvement in the project was supported by her, reflecting her commitment to the team and her relationship with Travis Kelce.
