Training camps in NFL teams are underway, but for Fantasy Football fans, they are sharpening their weapons to determine which players they will start with at the start of the season and which others they will continue with for the rest of the season. One of the most interesting elements to take into account are the rookies who will be stepping onto the gridiron for the first time.

In this scenario, it’s certainly exciting to think about Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter playing on both sides of the field in the NFL. Now imagine having the dynamic wide receiver/cornerback on your fantasy football team and racking up points for everything he does, both on offense and defense. For virtual football fans it would be great to get points for his 30-yard touchdown reception, his five tackles and his interception. That is only possible if your league uses the IDP scoring system

What positions is Travis Hunter eligible for in Fantasy leagues?

If you’re wondering about Hunter’s positional eligibility in fantasy leagues, how he can score points this season and the best way to use him in IDP leagues, we have the answers below.

  • Hunter is eligible as a wide receiver and cornerback. In traditional leagues (non-IDP), he can be placed in the following lineup positions: WR, flex and OP.
  • In IDP leagues, he can be placed at WR, flex, OP, CB, DB and DP.

Travis Hunter’s versatility will be of great help on every Fantasy Football date and certainly on the gridiron where he will be a key element for passing plays as well as for defensive strategies. For the Jaguars head coaches, it will be crucial how much time they use Hunter on defense as well as on offense. Undoubtedly, everything will be defined according to the opponent, the game scenario and especially the situation of the result during the game.

How can Hunter get fantasy points in each type of league?

In a traditional league, you get the points he scores on offense and you get credit for any touchdown, even those that occur on defense and special teams. So, if Hunter gets a pick-six, you get six fantasy points for the touchdown, but nothing for the interception.

However, if you want to maximize the Travis Hunter experience, play in an IDP league, where Hunter will earn you points for everything he does on offense and defense, regardless of the position you play him in.
