Cam Jurgens has officially become the cornerstone of the Philadelphia Eagles‘ offensive line – and the payday proves it.
The 25-year-old center, who stepped into Jason Kelce‘s legendary shoes after his retirement, has signed a blockbuster four-year contract extension worth $68 million, including a stunning $39.4 million guaranteed.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the deal secures Jurgens through the 2029 season and cements his status as one of the league’s elite linemen.
From backup to Pro Bowler to second-highest paid center
Drafted 51st overall out of Nebraska in 2022, Jurgens spent his early NFL days studying under Kelce, who anchored the Eagles‘ offensive line for 13 seasons. But once Kelce bid an emotional farewell ahead of the 2024 campaign, Jurgens seized the opportunity – and delivered.
In his first season as the Eagles‘ starting center, Jurgens not only earned Pro Bowl honors, he also helped lead Philadelphia to a Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. That performance was enough to vault him into rare company: he now trails only Creed Humphrey of the Chiefs in annual salary among NFL centers.
The Eagles have made it a priority to build from the trenches, and Jurgens’ extension follows recent massive deals for Jordan Mailata ($66 million), Landon Dickerson ($84 million), and Lane Johnson ($25 million for 2025).
Off the field, Jurgens is continuing to build his own legacy – with a side hustle that’s as unique as his Instagram handle, @beef_jurgy. His jerky brand, “Beef Jurgy Jerky,” famously debuted at the NFL Combine, where he handed out samples to coaches and scouts. Now, with millions in the bank, his jerky empire has a little more firepower.
Jurgens and girlfriend Margaret have also been enjoying a lavish offseason, recently visiting Rome and taking in cooking classes, wine tastings, and all the sights of the Eternal City.
With a Super Bowl ring, Pro Bowl nod, and massive contract under his belt, it’s safe to say Cam Jurgens is no longer living in Jason Kelce‘s shadow – he’s blazing a path of his own.
