The Dallas Mavericks fans are finally excited after a terrible heartbreak that left them with a deep hole in their hearts, when the franchise traded their superstar Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for the All-Star center/forward Anthony Davis.

Since then, a majority of Dallas fans have expressed their frustration over the move and they have demanded the resignation of general manager Nico Harris, who was the mind behind Luka‘s trade to LA.

But on Monday night, the Mavericks jumped from the 11th-best odds all the way to the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft, which means they will select teh generational talent that is forward Cooper Flagg, the 18-years-old sensation out fo the Duke Blue Devils that could become one of the faces of the league.

Dwyane Wade exposes and ropes in LeBron James

The future definitely looks bright for the Dallas Mavericks after all the hate he has received from the fans, and at the end of the day, it’s all about business. That’s something that former NBA superstar Dwyane Wade knows all too well, as he cleverly mentioned it during an episode of “Timeout” when the Mavs traded Luka to the Lakers.

“From the standpoint of the business of the game, Luka was No. 6 in jersey sales (…) Luka now shoots No. 1 in jersey sales with the Lakers. Now the international market, think about it, we just signed a new TV deal, $25 billion. Let’s just throw it out there, so now internationally you got the top international palyer in LA so the vievwership ticket sales, everybody, Europe, Spain, they all coming in to LA,” Wade said.

The Miami Heat legend went on to say that, looking at the business side of things, the Doncic trade to the Lakers was an amazing decision made by billionaires.

“This is what I want for now, and this is what we need as a league: you get 10 years of Luka being the face of the Lakers, but you also get to put him with LeBron James, the guy who’s been the face of the legue, who can show him how to be the face of the league, and also to, who can show him how to take care of himself the way he needs to take care of himself”.

Cooper Flagg sounds great for the Mavericks’ future

For the first time in franchise history, the Dallas Mavericks have won the NBA Draft Lottery. And they did it in stunning fashion, by defeating the long odds in Monday’s NBA Draft Lottery and are now in excellent position to select Duke All-American forward Cooper Flagg with the first pick in next month’s draft.

“The Mavericks can exude positivity and growth and development not only for our fans, but also for our business community, and also for our team and our staff. I think this is just a wonderful opportunity to know that great things can happen once again,” said Rolando Blackman, who was in Chicago representing the Mavs at the lottery.

Now, Dallas is clearly in position to put Flagg on a vaunted frontline that already includes Anthony Davis, Dereck Lively II, P.J. Washington and Daniel Gafford. That also – if Flagg becomes the Texas’ pick – will make the Mavs as one of the favorites to win next season’s NBA championship, according to some experts.

It’s a moment that was long overdue for the Mavericks, who missed the playoffs this season after advancing to last year’s NBA Finals. The team posted a 39-43 record this season in large part because they lost 354 player-games due to injuries and illnesses, which were the second-most games lost in franchise history.
