Draymond Green roasts Shams Charania after wild prediction fizzles out

Back in May, NBA insider Shams Charania had fans bracing for an earthquake. Appearing on The Pat McAfee Show, he called the upcoming NBA offseason potentially “the most craziest ever,” teasing major moves and league-shifting trades. With title contention hanging by a thread for many franchises, the idea didn’t seem too far-fetched.

Fast forward to August, and that bold forecast feels a little overcooked.

While we did see some big names move-Kevin Durant to Houston, Bradley Beal to the Clippers, Damian Lillard shockingly waived-there wasn’t nearly the league-wide chaos Charania had teased. Most teams stood pat. The fireworks never really launched. Enter Draymond Green.

The Warriors forward couldn’t resist throwing a little shade at Shams. On Monday, Green posted several laughing emojis on Threads alongside a reference to the now-cold offseason take. The post didn’t include words, but the message was loud and clear: “This aged well.”

The Warriors Stay Quiet, and Draymond Notices

It’s easy to see why Green’s having fun with it. Golden State’s offseason has been as uneventful as any in the league. The only real storyline? Jonathan Kuminga’s restricted free agency and the lack of progress in sign-and-trade talks. The Warriors made an offer. Kuminga said no. And so far, no team has stepped up with a compelling deal.

According to The Athletic, both sides might just stick it out until the trade deadline and reassess.

Meanwhile, Western Conference rivals are stacking talent. Phoenix retooled. Houston went big with Durant. The Lakers reloaded. And the Warriors? Still heavily reliant on Steph Curry’s brilliance-and his health.

Green’s jab at Shams wasn’t just about a bad prediction. It may have been a subtle nudge at his own front office.

Steph’s Window Is Closing. Is Golden State Doing Enough?

Curry is 36. Injuries have started to creep in. And while he’s still playing at an elite level, he can’t carry the load forever. Klay Thompson’s future remains murky, and the youth movement hasn’t quite taken the leap.
