Draymond Green explains why LeBron is the GOAT over Michael Jordan

Although many people want to include other big names in this debate, it often boils down to the figures of LeBron James and Michael Jordan. They have dominated this conversation for years, with opinions sharply divided and the unfortunate reality that we’ll never see them face off on the court.

Many have their favorite when it comes to crowning the GOAT, with strong arguments on both sides, and it’s no secret that other NBA stars also weigh in with their opinions. This time, it was Draymond Green, a multi-champion with the Golden State Warriors, who shared his take.

Draymond Green’s GOAT Is…

The Warriors player revealed his stance during a live stream with Twitch streamer Kai Cenat, explaining why he chooses LeBron James over Jordan as the greatest of all time.

“MJ had Pippen, Bron was winning games with Matthew Dellavedova… that guy stinks, no disrespect,” Green said, without mentioning that James also played alongside great stars like Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Kyrie Irving, and Anthony Davis, among others.

Draymond’s Career vs. LeBron

Although Green considers LeBron James the best player in NBA history, he has faced him head-to-head on multiple occasions. The Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers met in four NBA Finals, with Golden State winning three of them. Cleveland’s lone victory was historic, overcoming a 3-1 deficit in the series in miraculous fashion.

According to StatMuse, Green has a 13-12 record against James in the regular season, averaging 9.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 6.2 assists in those 25 games. While Draymond is clearly not at LeBron’s level, he has faced numerous elite talents throughout his career and still recognizes James as the greatest of all time.

This debate will remain alive for years, especially after James retires, when his legacy can be directly compared to Michael Jordan‘s. Over time, new players will emerge and join the conversation about who the true GOAT is.

As LeBron prepares for what could be his final NBA season-a historic 23rd-he will face Green and the Warriors at least four times, continuing his quest to strengthen his case as the greatest of all time. There’s no doubt that if he wants to solidify his claim as the definitive GOAT, a fifth championship with the Los Angeles Lakers could tip the scales in his favor.
