Draymond Green dares Skip Bayless to repeat his criticisms: “Double down or apologize”

If there’s one thing you have to give Skip Bayless credit for, it’s that he never backs down, not even when his physical safety is at risk. The veteran commentator proved this recently, reiterating his accusation that Draymond Green is the “dirtiest” player in the NBA, right to Green’s face.

The veteran commentator is best known for his feud with LeBron James, whom he has labeled a “ring chaser” and the “biggest flopper” in the league.

However, Bayless also had some words for Green. He specifically criticized his excessive roughness on the court, calling him the “dirtiest” player in the league.

Recently, the Golden State Warriors star launched his new podcast, and the first guest was none other than Bayless. On the live stream, he challenged him to repeat his criticism, and Bayless obliged.

Bayless reiterates his criticism of Green, with a twist

During the first broadcast of “The Draymond Green Show,” the 14-season veteran hosted a segment called “Take Two,” where he allowed Bayless to revisit his criticisms.

The specific comment Green read was, “Draymond is not angry, just crazy and by far the dirtiest player in NBA history.” The options he gave the guest were “Double down,” “Modify with context,” or “Apologize.”

True to form, Bayless didn’t hesitate to reply, “I double down.” However, this time he had a justification for Green’s behavior. “It’s because you overachieve,” he asserted.

He explained that Green fights with such tenacity, “that you push it right to the edge, and then every once in a while, you just go completely over the edge, trying to get an edge.”

The statistics back up Bayless’s claim regarding Green

Just in May 2025, the NBA fined the Golden State star $50,000 for criticizing league officials. But beyond mere criticism, the punishments he has received support Bayless’s assertion:

  • 4 career suspensions
  • 210 technical fouls
  • 21 flagrant fouls
  • 24 ejections
  • $1.4 million in league fines
  • 2.8 personal fouls per game for his career

Nevertheless, Bayless also asserted that the four-time NBA champion will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on his first ballot. On this last point, very few would disagree with the controversial commentator.
