The Blue Jays got the last ticket to the 2025 World Series after coming from behind to beat the Seattle Mariners in Game 7. The victory was not only celebrated by the Toronto players, but also by Canadian rapper Drake, who posted a video on his social media celebrating his team’s victory, as they will face the Los Angeles Dodgers for the baseball championship.
During the game, George Springer emulated some of the most memorable scenes of all time in baseball when, in the seventh inning and down by two runs, he hit the home run that turned the scoreboard around and led the Toronto Blue Jays to an electrifying 4-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners in Game 7. The Canadian team had not qualified for a Fall Classic since 1993, and it took them 32 years to return to this stage.
Drake recorded Julio Rodriguez’s third strikeout
Canadian rapper and Toronto fan Drake celebrated the franchise’s thrilling 4-3 victory in the decisive game of the American League Championship Series against Seattle. He shared a clip of Mariners star Julio Rodriguez’s third strikeout in the ninth inning to end the game on his Instagram story. In the video, he can be seen surrounded by friends, who also celebrated their team’s victory.
Great show, he’s gone up 6’errrrrrs
When the Blue Jays pulled off a comeback victory after the strikeout, the Canadian rapper was seen screaming and jumping for joy. He captioned his story with a five-word message: “Great show, it’s gone up 6’errrrrrs“. Toronto native Drake has partnered with other MLB teams in the past. He threw out the first pitch at Progressive Field in 2011 after declaring himself a Guardians fan
Blue Jays ‘not afraid’ of Dodgers
Blue Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman is not worried about facing the expensive Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series. “We also have a lot of guys who make a lot of money,” Gausman, drenched in beer, said after Toronto won its first championship in 32 years by beating the Mariners 4-3. “They’re two really good teams. It’s going to be really good baseball,” Gausman said.

On the other hand, “they’re a powerhouse,” said Toronto outfielder Nathan Lukes. “They’re known to do it time and time again, but we’re not afraid of them.” The Blue Jays have made it this far in the playoffs without shortstop Bo Bichette. The two-time American League hits leader and two-time All-Star has not played since he twisted his left knee in a Sept. 6 collision with New York Yankees catcher Austin Wells.
