Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl show: It’s like if LeBron James lost the NBA finals

A Philadelphia-based rapper argued Drake can still come back at Kendrick Lamar in their feud, despite the brutal roasting the Canadian was given at Super Bowl LIX as he watched 76,500 people sing a long to Not Like Us.

Drake and Lamar have been at war since early 2024 but after releasing Meet the Grahams, Euphoria and Not Like Us, it’s widely agreed the Californian put a very definitive ending to exchanges as he went as far as hinting at his rival being a pedophile.

Not only at the Caesars Superdome did people sing along to Lamar‘s “tryna strike a chord and it’s probably A minor” verse, so did all of Drake‘s peers at the 2025 Grammys, where the former collected a total of five golden awards.

But according to Gillie, the God’s Plan singer can still respond as he makes an intriguing comparison to the Los Angeles Lakers‘ LeBron James.

“You lost a rap battle,” Gillie told Club Shay Shay. “That’s like LeBron James losing the NBA Finals.

“He’ll be cool next year, he’ll be back. Even if you look at the streams now, right? Even with him [Kendrick] winning five Grammys, his streams still don’t match Drake streams.”

Lamar eclipses Drake on Spotify

Lamar managed to win Best Music Video, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, Song of the Year and Record of the Year for Not Like Us, but he went on to perform the track in front of millions watching via TV during the half-time Super Bowl show.

He now has 97 million monthly listeners via Spotify, as per Sportskeeda.com, which is now 20 million ahead of Drake despite his latest album releasing on Valentine’s Day on February 14.

Drake‘s album sees him collaborate with PARTYNEXTDOOR on $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, in which he also takes another swipe at Lamar in Gimme A Hug by mocking his height considering the man from Compton stands at 5ft 5in slamming him as a “small fish”.
