The Los Angeles Lakers came from 16 points down in Denver to win 107-115 against the Nuggets, on a great night for Luka Doncic, who achieved a monumental triple-double of 38 points (12 of 21 from the field), 13 rebounds and 10 assists
Doncic’s great game was endorsed by an efficient LeBron James, who after being left out of the All-Star starting lineup for the first time since his rookie year, scored 19 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
The Lakers were able to overcome the absence in the second half of their starting center Deandre Ayton, who suffered a left eye injury.
Marcus Smart (15 points), Rui Hachimura (9 points and 6 rebounds), Drew Timme (9 points) and Jaxson Hayes (9 points) supported the good game of their two stars.
Doncic’s triple-double surpasses Jokic in NBA history and Jerry West in Lakers history
In a historic night for the former Real Madrid player, Luka Doncic recorded the 52nd triple-double of his career with at least 30 points, surpassing Nikola Jokic for second place on the all-time list led by Oscar Robertson with 106.
Doncic also signed his seventh game of the season with at least 35 points, five rebounds and 10 assists, surpassing the mark of Jerry West (the NBA logo image) with the Lakers with six games in 1969 with at least 35+5+10.
Jamal Murray sank in the second half and could not rescue the Nuggets against the Lakers
Jamal Murray launched the Nuggets in a first half in which he scored 26 points, but in the second half he barely hit 1 of his 5 shots and finished the night with 28 points
Jamal Murray (28 points and 11 assists), Aaron Gordon (18 points), Spencer Jones (16 points) and Peyton Watson (18 points) were the best for Denver.
The Nuggets went into the game with four absentees, including franchise player Nikola Jokic (he has missed 12 games with a hyperextended left knee).
