As Super Bowl 2025 unfolded with all eyes on the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, another storyline emerged off the field-Patrick Mahomes‘ family meeting President Donald Trump. Ahead of the game, Mahomes‘ mother, Randi Mahomes, his brother Jackson Mahomes and his sister Mia Randall were photographed inside Trump’s luxury suite, with the former president grinning and giving a thumbs-up in the snapshot.
The image, shared on X by Trump’s special assistant Margo Martin, quickly gained attention online.
Jackson Mahomes later posted a solo picture with Trump on Instagram, linking to the former president’s account-further fueling discussion about the Mahomes family’s apparent affinity for Trump.
Trump’s previous comments on the Mahomes family and Taylor Swift
Trump has not been shy about sharing his opinions on Patrick Mahomes‘ wife, Brittany Mahomes, nor about his disdain for Taylor Swift-who was also present at the game to support her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
During a Fox & Friends call-in last September, Trump praised Brittany Mahomes while taking another swipe at Swift.
“Well, I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better, if you want to know the truth. I was not a Taylor fan,” he said.
The comment followed social media backlash after Brittany was spotted liking one of Trump‘s Instagram posts in August 2024.
“To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood. There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well,” she later responded.
Despite his family’s interactions with Trump, Patrick Mahomes has maintained a neutral stance on politics, emphasizing that he doesn’t want his platform to be used for endorsements.
“I’ve always said, I don’t want my place or my platform to be used to endorse a candidate either way,” Mahomes stated during a Chiefs press conference on September 11, 2024.
When asked about Trump‘s attendance at the Super Bowl, Mahomes offered a diplomatic response.
“Yeah, I mean, it’s always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting president, someone that is at the top position in our country,” he noted.
