Dodgers fans receive some of the worst news, and trouble is on the horizon for 2026

The Los Angeles Dodgers already have their sights set on a third consecutive World Series title to finally cement themselves as a dynasty with few precedents in MLB history. However, they won’t achieve that goal unless they address the lingering issues that haunted them throughout both the regular season and the postseason.

One name stands out in particular: Tanner Scott. The Dodgers’ relief pitching department desperately needs consistency, and according to Brandon Gomes, Scott will remain part of the organization moving forward.

They won’t part ways with Tanner Scott

After leading MLB in blown saves during the regular season with 10, fans were relieved when Tanner Scott was left off the playoff roster. But it seems the left-hander will continue with the team for the 2026 MLB season.

The decision to leave him out wasn’t performance-related, as Dave Roberts explained at the time-it was due to a medical procedure for an abscess.

Now, as the Dodgers aim to strengthen their bullpen with reliable new arms, many have speculated about a possible trade involving Scott. However, during the MLB General Managers Meetings in Las Vegas, Gomes made it clear that the pitcher remains part of their plans:

“He’s certainly one of the guys in that group,” Gomes said via Fabian Ardaya. “We’ve seen volatility with relievers in the past. Unfortunately, this has happened to other great closers before. We fully believe Tanner is going to come back and have a great year for us next season and be right there in the mix to pitch at the back end of games.”

The real question now is whether the Dodgers will pursue additional relief pitchers to solidify their closing rotation. In the postseason, they relied on improvisation-something they can’t afford to repeat if they truly want to dominate the 2026 MLB season and keep the dynasty dream alive.
