Everyone knew it was going to be a wild game but nobody thought it was going to be wild in the stands. Calm was lost at Dodger Stadium, some Dodgers’ fans had a bad behavior during the bottom of the seventh inning of Game 2 of the National League Division Series
They threw objects at the Padres outfielders when the score was 4-1 in favor of San Diego. Fans showed signs of despair as they decided to throw cans of beers at Fernando Tatis Jr. and a baseball at Jurickson Profar.
The ball from the stands passed near Profar, who previously stole a Mookie Betts’ home run in the first inning. The Padres left outfielder was angry about what happened and decided to confront the rival fans, while in right field Tatis Jr. saw bottles also passed very close to him. No one was injured.
It did not stop there
Immediately the umpires realized what happened in the field and approached Jurickson Profar to listen to his complaints. Likewise, the security members of the stadium realized what happened, so they immediately tried to calm the fans.
The fury of the Dodgers faithful fans was felt and security guards did not hesitate to protect the outfielders, who were removed from their area to stay away from the fans. The game was stopped for a few minutes.
When play resumed the Padres also resumed their dominating performance as they beat the Dodgers 10-2 with a six-home run performance to tie an MLB record and also tied the series against Los Angeles.
