Dodgers delay Tyler Glasnow’s return and claim waiver

This weekend, the Los Angeles Dodgers had a rotation in their team. The current champions have had a series of casualties that have made them look for players in other areas to cover and reinforce those spaces that have been left vacant in recent games.

It’s been just over a month since starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow has been active with the team. The 31-year-old was placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 28 due to inflammation in his right shoulder, however, after his return in mid-May this weekend he was now sent to the 60-day disabled list.

This change is to gradually regain strength in his arm, so he could be available to return in late June. Glasnow has started five games this season, going 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA in 18 innings, with 23 strikeouts

Who did the Dodgers sign?

Due to this vacancy left by Glasnow, the Angels decided to go for Chuckie Robinson, who was claimed off waivers, and was assigned to the rotation to start this week.

Robinson hit .272 with a home run and 18 RBIs with the Triple-A Salt Lake team. He made his Major League debut with Cincinnati, playing in 25 games, hitting two home runs and driving in five runs. He also spent time with the Chicago White Sox last year.

The 30-year-old was designated for assignment by the Angels last Wednesday, so he will now join the other team in the city and join Hunter Feduccia and Chris Okey as Triple-A catchers with major league experience. In addition, he will provide depth at the catcher position along with Will Smith and Dalton Rushing.
