Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol are set for a highly anticipated rematch this Saturday in Riyadh, following their thrilling bout in October, where Beterbiev narrowly won by decision.

The unbeaten and undisputed light heavyweight champion, Beterbiev (21-0, 20 KOs), arrived in Saudi Arabia today ahead of the showdown.

Reflecting on their first encounter, Beterbiev shared, “Not bad,” when asked how he was feeling. He also acknowledged areas where improvements could be made.

“We learned some different things, like we know what to improve and what to correct. There’s many things and many aspects I can improve myself, we will see. I think they [Team Bivol] have a different strategy or something,” Beterbiev explained.

Bivol has a gameplan

Beterbiev, who remains undefeated at 40 years old, credits his longevity to both his experience and his consistent dedication to staying in peak physical condition.

Bivol (23-1, 12 KOs), the challenger, has studied the first fight closely, watching it several times.

“I saw good moments and bad moments,” he said, noting that he needs to improve in all areas.

“I just need to be better in all positions. I need to be faster, harder, smarter, everything better.”

Though Bivol believes he didn’t learn much from the first bout, he did gain important insight into himself.

“I learned about myself, that I don’t like to lose and I need to push myself harder,” he admitted.

When asked what changes he plans to make in the rematch, Bivol was determined.

“More punches and more endurance.”

Both fighters are coming into this rematch with clear goals and expectations, making it clear that this will be another high-stakes and intense battle between two of the best in the light heavyweight division.
