Novak Djokovic will not play the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin (November 10-17). The Serbian tennis player has announced through his social networks that the injury he suffers prevents him from playing the event that brings together the eight best tennis players of the season. This injury already forced him to withdraw from the Masters 1,000 in Paris.
“It is a great honour to qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin. I was really looking forward to being there, but due to a wrist injury I will not be able to play next week. I apologise to those who were planning to see me. I wish all the players a great tournament,” wrote Djokovic, who will not be able to defend the title he won in 2023 and 2022.
The absence of Djokovic confirms the presence of Casper Ruud, Alex de Minaur and Andrey Rublev in the tournament, regardless of their results in the tournaments they are playing this week. Ruud and Rublev are playing in the 250 Open in Metz, while De Minaur will be playing in Belgrade.
The eight tennis players who will play in Turin are Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Taylor Fritz and the aforementioned Ruud, De Minaur and Rublev. The draw for the round robin is scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 7.
