College football has officially entered the pop culture spotlight-and this time, it’s not about touchdowns. Oregon quarterback Luke Moga was recently seen dining with pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter, setting social media ablaze and prompting a cheeky reaction from NFL rookie Dillon Gabriel.

The photo of the pair grabbing burgers in Eugene quickly went viral, and it wasn’t long before Gabriel chimed in with a playful Instagram story: “Hard launch bro! Happy for you guys.” That one caption sent Ducks fans into overdrive, suddenly dubbing Moga “QB1” both on and off the field.

Luke Moga, a redshirt freshman at Oregon, hasn’t taken a snap at the college level yet but has generated plenty of buzz. In high school, he threw for nearly 1,900 yards with 23 touchdowns and added over 650 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground-showcasing dual-threat potential.

Oregon head coach Dan Lanning has expressed confidence in his quarterback room, but Moga’s rising profile-on and off the field-is starting to shift the spotlight in his favor.

The burger date with Carpenter, a music star whose dating history often garners headlines, had fans speculating immediately. While neither party has confirmed a relationship, the internet is running wild with memes and reactions. For many Ducks supporters, this moment sealed Moga’s “star power” status-even before throwing a college pass.

From viral posts to NFL camps: Gabriel’s own spotlight

Meanwhile, Dillon Gabriel, who made the “hard launch” joke, is drawing attention for more than just social media antics. The former Oregon quarterback was selected 94th overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2025 NFL Draft and is now locked in a competitive quarterback battle with Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and fellow rookie Shedeur Sanders.

At Browns minicamp, Gabriel has reportedly taken the majority of first-team reps, showcasing the same precision and poise that earned him a Heisman finalist nod and the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year award.

Though scouts have raised concerns about his height and arm strength, Cleveland’s coaching staff remains optimistic. They’re particularly impressed by his adaptability, having successfully learned and led offenses at three different college programs.

With Deshaun Watson sidelined by injury, Gabriel has a real chance to earn playing time. His ability to make quick, accurate throws in a West Coast offense could be exactly what Cleveland needs. Whether he’s stirring up headlines or throwing spirals, one thing’s clear-Dillon Gabriel knows how to stay in the conversation.
