Travis Kelce is taking his talents away from the NFL and to television following his successful debut in FX’s Grotesquerie on October 2’s episode, but did he pay a subtle tribute to Taylor Swift in his cameo?
The 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs star has always been interested in acting and he got his nod in Ryan Murphy’s latest Halloween flick after his highly-successfully American Horror Story (2011-present) and he impressed, delivering his lines like a natural.
He took the role of a flirtatious nurse where he offers to bake on behalf of Niecy Nash-Betts’ Detective Lois Tryon and it’s here where he may have delivered the nod to his Eras Tour girlfriend.
“You know what I like? Pop-Tarts without the frosting,” Kelce’s Ed Laclan says, in what could be a nod to Swift’s decision to bake the treats for the Chiefs in the 2023 NFL season as they went on to win Super Bowl LVIII.
The tight end will head back to the football field on Monday, October 7 when the Chiefs take on the .500 New Orleans Saints at the Caesars Superdome. The game will kick-off at 20:15 ET/17:15 PT.
Swifties freak out over the nod
Of course, with Taylor Swift’s devoted fanbase, anything either she or Kelce says will be heavily looked into and scrutinized so it’s no surprise that the subtle reference didn’t go over their heads at all.
Fans took to X.com, formerly Twitter, in their droves to discuss the hint to the billionaire pop star as they celebrated the couple’s relationship once again.
One user wrote, “POP TART MENTION HELLO.”
Whilst a second added, “Killatrav liking ‘pop tarts’ in #grotesquerie sounds familiar lol.”
And a third added that Swift herself, “sent pop tarts to the set with him so they had to change the script.. I see what yall did there #grotesquerie.”
