After the Los Angeles Chargers were eliminated from the NFL playoffs in the AFC wild card round by the New England Patriots 16-3, the mockery was quick to follow. And, to no one’s surprise, the team’s quarterback was the main target.
However, one of them took on special relevance, as many fans believed that Justin Herbert had dressed up as a wolf monster in his girlfriend Madison Beer’s music video, but did it really happen?
Did Herbert appear in his girlfriend’s music video?
The song “Bad Enough” is the fourth single from singer Madison Beer’s new album, “Locket,” which was released on Friday, January 16.
In the music video for the song, she is seen wearing a light blue dress running away from a werewolf-like beast chasing her in a black suit. However, the music video went viral for a strange reason: fans claim that the wolf was the Chargers’ quarterback.
The mockery increased even more after Herbert and his team lost to Drake Make and the Patriots in the wild card round on Sunday the 11th. Herbert closed the game by completing 19 of 31 passes for 159 yards, with no touchdowns or interceptions, and was sacked six times.
After the loss, fans reacted to Beer’s music video on X, formerly Twitter, and accused Justin of not having his priorities straight:
“Doing anything but winning a playoff game,” said one of them.
“At least He did that better than playing football in the playoffs,” wrote another.
“Music videos: 1. Wins in playoffs: 0. Let’s go Herbert!” commented a third fan ironically.
However, the person playing the wolf is not the QB, but Austin Minard, an actor and model, who confirmed his role on his official Instagram account. “Bad Enough @madisonbeer video. Monster played by me. This was a fun one,” he wrote alongside four videos from the shoot.
Rumors of their relationship began in August last year after they were photographed together, holding hands and smiling, walking around Los Angeles. They were then seen enjoying sporting events such as a Lakers game and Game 3 of the MLB World Series between the Dodgers and the Blue Jays.
Despite being seen publicly on their romantic dates, both Justin and Madison have remained tight-lipped about their romance.
Meanwhile, Herbert closed out his season with a passer rating of 94.1 with 3,727 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions in 16 games.
