Did Donald Trump curse the Yankees? How U.S President’s handshake might have exacerbated Aaron Judge’s elbow injury

The New York Yankees are regaining momentum this season, accumulating wins and re-establishing themselves as a competitive force. However, injuries to key players continue to raise concerns – and Donald Trump might have had a part in their bad luck.

Outfielder Aaron Judge, recovering from a flexor strain in his right elbow, has returned to action but remains under close observation.

Shortstop Anthony Volpe is also sidelined due to a shoulder injury, with speculation about potential surgery adding further uncertainty to the lineup.

Judge returned to the outfield on September 5, cautiously resuming his defensive duties. In his first inning back, a misdirected throw to Jazz Chisholm Jr. raised questions about the effectiveness of his arm, although Judge insisted postgame that he was fully capable of performing.

He stated, “I wouldn’t be out there if I wasn’t ready to throw the ball efficiently,” emphasizing his readiness despite reduced arm velocity.

Analysts and fans continue to monitor his performance closely, noting that his defensive contributions may be affected until he regains full strength.

Presidential visit raises questions

Adding to the attention surrounding Judge was a visit from President Donald Trump, who attended a Yankees game to commemorate the 24th anniversary of 9/11.

Security measures were extensive, with gates opening three hours early, glass barriers installed, and Secret Service agents present throughout the stadium. Fans reacted with a mix of cheers and boos, reflecting both patriotism and political tensions.

During pregame activities, Judge engaged in a handshake with Trump, which drew commentary due to his elbow injury. Former Yankee Clint Frazier expressed concern about the force of the handshake, cautioning that Judge’s arm could be at risk.

“I saw he was in the locker room. Yeah, he was aggressive with that elbow, dude. I don’t think he knows the Judge is dealing with an elbow problem. So, watch out, Mr. President,” Frazier remarked in a video message.

The interaction highlighted the heightened visibility and scrutiny elite athletes face during public events, especially when they are managing injuries.

Judge’s cautious approach to returning from injury reflects the balance required between maintaining team performance and protecting personal health.

His defensive responsibilities and arm strength are critical to the Yankees’ success, and careful management is necessary to prevent setbacks. Similarly, Volpe’s shoulder injury continues to present challenges for the team, emphasizing the impact of injuries on roster stability and postseason prospects.

Yankees exercise caution

The Yankees’ current situation underscores the broader implications of player health and public exposure.

While Judge continues to perform at a high level, monitoring his recovery remains a priority. The presence of prominent figures, such as the former president, further amplifies attention on athletes, reinforcing the need for prudent management both on and off the field.

As the season progresses, the Yankees must navigate injury risks and maintain competitive momentum.

Judge’s health and performance will be pivotal to the team’s defensive and offensive strategy, while managing exposure and physical demands is essential to sustaining his long-term contributions.

The combination of elite athletic responsibility and public visibility illustrates the challenges faced by star players in Major League Baseball.
