Deion Sanders goes ballistic when he takes apart Shedeur Sanders’ fake meeting with headphones

For weeks, speculation swirled about what really caused Shedeur Sanders to tumble down the NFL Draft board.

Many media outlets and insiders pinned it on one now-infamous allegation claiming that Shedeur wore headphones during a formal NFL interview. The story, reportedly from an anonymous executive, framed the young quarterback as unprofessional and unprepared.

But according to Deion Sanders, the claim wasn’t just wrong. It was an outright lie. During a recent appearance on Say What Needs To Be Said with former All-Pro cornerback Asante Samuel, Coach Prime wasted no time dismantling the narrative that his son mishandled pre-draft interviews.

Asked whether the rumors had any truth to them, Deion looked visibly annoyed by the suggestion.

“When you sit up there and say something like, he went in a meeting unprepared. Like, dude, Shedeur Sanders?” Deion asked rhetorically, shaking his head.

A strong defense of Shedeur

He pointed out that Shedeur had navigated six different offensive coordinators across his college career and still managed to improve every time.

“Who’s had six different coordinators, who has still functioned and leveled up every time we brought somebody new in. And you’re going to tell me he had on headphones? Shedeur?” Deion repeated, incredulous.

The response was part defense, part indictment of the NFL’s long history of selectively undermining prospects based on personality or pedigree. In Deion’s view, Shedeur is no diva. He’s a young man who’s been media-trained by life itself-having spent his formative years in front of cameras due to the family’s multiple reality TV shows and football documentaries.

“Anybody who knows my son understands he’s a professional. Like, he’s going to go into a meeting with headphones on? Come on, man,” Deion said.

Asante Samuel chimed in with his own analysis, saying: “That tells me that somebody was looking for something. Before they even came, they were already looking for something. Looking for an issue, pre-planned.”

The theory makes sense to those who followed Shedeur’s draft journey closely. From his electric performances at Jackson State to his final season at Colorado, Shedeur’s name carried weight.

By the time he reached the NFL Combine, the narrative around him was already shifting. It wasn’t about his arm strength or football IQ; it was about attitude, media attention, and perceived distractions.
