Deion Sanders annoyed by Travis Hunter’s unannounced visit to his messy office

It was a reunion fans didn’t see coming but not for the reasons you’d expect. Travis Hunter, fresh off being selected No. 2 overall in the NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, stopped by to visit his former college coach and mentor, Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders. On paper, it sounded like a heartwarming moment. In reality? It turned into one of the most unexpectedly tense scenes between two of football’s closest figures.

Hunter walked into Coach Prime’s office with cameras rolling and a big grin on his face, ready to share the joy of making it to the league. But what he walked into was… chaos. Papers everywhere, shoes scattered, and Deion stretched out on a couch mid foot massage or pedicure no one’s really sure. The vibe? Let’s just say it wasn’t exactly a Disney moment.

Travis Hunter’s surprise visit caught Deion Sanders

Sanders, usually animated and full of emotion, didn’t jump up or even offer that signature Prime Time energy. He stayed reclined, offered a dry “Hey man, congrats,” and went back to his business. For a coach who once beamed with pride over Travis winning college honors and dominating on the field, the low-energy reaction had fans scratching their heads. What happened to all the love?

Some say it wasn’t really about Travis at all. It’s hard to ignore the timing especially after Deion’s own son, Shedeur Sanders, slid all the way to the fifth round of the NFL Draft, picked 144th by the Cleveland Browns. Many expected Shedeur to go in the first round, but pre draft concerns including limited participation in interviews and workouts reportedly turned off some teams. That fall from grace may have left a mark on Coach Prime.

Still, Travis handled it like a pro smiling, staying gracious, and giving his former coach the respect he always has. Even if Deion didn’t say much, you know deep down he’s proud. But that brief exchange, caught on video, reminded fans that things have changed. The college days are over, the NFL is here, and not everything goes as planned even in Coach Prime’s world.
